Ed Adkins is a good friend of mine who has an attitude toward anything “New Media” that is, let’s just say, negative. So I started “A Memo to Ed Adkins” as a way to explore the world of new media through questions to the internet, but using Ed as the subject.
This series was borne out of several conversations in Las Vegas while attending the “New Media Expo.” It was decided that Ed was the biggest detractor of all things “New Media” so he had to become the subject of simple new media implementation. Not too complex-just me talking to Ed, who served as the metaphor for all of the internet.
Every question I posed to Ed was a question that could have been (and should have been) answered by anyone with an opinion. Unfortunately, I got enough feedback from people thinking that I was somehow obsessed with Ed that I think the joke missed the mark. I’m not one to give in and give up the punchline, so it went pretty badly throughout. After ten episodes, the series had run its course.
