Misc: Walking the Ground
Man, I really hate it when I get obsessed with things. But sometimes it can work out.
I started telling this long, convoluted story to Christy tonight. It’s a story about an anonymous blogger working to take down a candidate. I really don’t have a feeling one way or another about the candidate, but I do care about truth. Anyway, the story was about the candidate’s living arrangements, and how this anonymous blogger was alleging that the candidate did not live in his district when filing to run. The date given by the candidate, according to the blogger, was November, 2005. So the blogger was telling us that in November 2005 the candidate did not live in his registered house. That blogger also gave a different address on two different occasions, which only complicated matters. Then, yesterday, there was a breakthrough. A commenter named Steve Worth called out the blogger and gave what Worth called the correct address. Interesting.
Christy, obsessed with real estate, listens to all of this and says to me, “Zillow it.” I stood there with my mouth agape. She moved to the computer, hit up zillow.com for the address of the house. Okay, all I can tell there is that it was built in 2004. Wait, 2004? I thought this thing was a pile of wood in February of this year. Okay, but what about the date lived in? Well, Ryan, that’s an easy one, too. Just go to the Washoe County Assessor’s website, click on the Property Assessment Data page, then click the little button that says search. A nice little search form pops up. Type in the house number and street, hit “situs search,” and you’re there. A listing of search results pops up. If you did it correctly, there should be one result. The name on it happens to be the candidate’s name. Go figure. Oh, it also has the date of the last transaction as May 19, 2005. That would be when it was purchased, for people who don’t understand these things.
You can go further. Feel free to click on the address so you can see more details. Wow. Everything is there. The value, the owner, all the parcel info. Pretty tough to dispute. I scroll down. Shit. Look at that picture. It’s not finished. The blogger is right! Wait! Click the picture. Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. The unfinished house picture is from March. . .2005. Looks like the case is closed. Luckily for my criminal record, I didn’t actually walk the ground. I bet they don’t take kindly to people like me standing in random houses.
What’s not at all surprising is that tonight we get the revelation that EO knows who the Cobb Gobbler is. Shocking. I’m still not buying that it isn’t EO himself. Or his hapless buddy Disney. But whatever. He was at least nice enough to include a little blurb about me in there. How touching. But no link. Thank God. Now I won’t be inundated with the entire three clicks people would have given it. It’s good to know a respected consultant like Odom is taking part in dirty tricks. What a bunch of scumbags. Well, one scumbag. But I’d have no problem if you threw The Muth in there.
That brings me back to a rumination I had a few months back about power. That certainly includes most politicians, but when you claim a politician is a liar, and it’s you who are really lying, well, go ahead and assume I’ve given you the Cheney Clause

What I put up about Cobb is true and I am glad you “walked the ground” although through cyberspace.
I learned a few things from your post on real estate reasearch, thanks.
After seeing your fine research, smacking my forehead and thinking, “I wish I’ have thought of that.” I must say, “Will nobody in the Main Stream Media investigate this?!”

Jerz, also I thought you meant I didn’t link you from CobbGobbler which I religiously try to do. Upon re-reading your fine post I see that you are referring to not being linked from Battle Born.
I am seriously not EO and I have nothing to do with BBN not linking you.
By the way from my site you will get way more than 3 clicks!
I belive Eric when he writes that he wishes he had thought of Cobb Gobbler because I think we are trouncing his visitor stats!

Yikes, the timestamps on those posts are awfully close.
I was telling the truth all along although I am not the greatest typist in the world it was not meant to mislead.
Jerz found out that I was telling the truth all along by conducting a “walking the ground†document search. Since Cobb’s C&E lists Cobb’s squeez living at that address at the end of December 2005, then that is further proof of fraud.
I have yet to be proven wrong about any of my points against Cobb yet it seems people want to investigate me rather than Ty Cobb Jr. the purpetrator of proven misconduct. What is horrible is that many people will still vote for him.
I guess I should have used the name The Anon Guy instead of Cobb Gobbler. Nobody seems to question his sincerity or credibility.
Funny seeing The Anon Guy questioning anyone’s anonymity.
I am not EO. In fact I was writing my 08:01 post and after previewing it an submitting it, Odom’s post was already there.

Cobbler, you’re full of it. Why don’t you try reading the Jerz post again. It proves you are lying, not that you are right. You really must be off your rocker. By the way, the photo of the “stick house” on your website has in big, bold lettering that it was taken on 3-3-05. Which proves the house was completed in 2005. If I were you I would read more carefully. You’re sounding like an even bigger idiot than I suspected you were.
Hey, no need for name calling. If you look at the assessors website that Jerz uncovered, it says that they assessed the dirt in 2004. The photo of the first buildings in the subdivision was taken in 05. Before you become too hasty, go to the assessors web page that Jerz references above with Ty O. Cobb’s name on the form, then click “Click here for additional assessment history” and viola! you see that it was only declared as a single family residence 2nd quarter 2006.
Disney/Odom,
I did not investigate you in this instance. I investigated what you wanted me to investigate and added my comments about who you are. It’s pretty obvious now. You’re a tool, and people using their names may call you an idiot at will on my site.
Bottom line: you screwed it. You screamed at me to investigate, I did, and you were so far wrong you’re now posting every three minutes to try to spin it back, as different people, and it’s only digging the hole deeper.
I wish you were a couple of things. 1) smarter, 2) at least able to contain yourself in the face of a strong beatdown (you’re out of control and can’t seem to stop hitting the post button), and 3) a better foil for my pursuit.
You disappoint me, Cobbler. I really thought you had something that I could use as a good point of opposition for some time around here. But, alas, you are not only kinda stupid, but you are a liar, too. Come back when you want to tell the truth.
