Misc: Another Terri Patraw update

I wanted to pass along an update to any of you looking for information about what I have been going through with former UNR soccer coach Terri Patraw.

Following advice of legal counsel, I removed the posts as of 5pm PST on July 11, 2008. As of now, they are still showing up in searches (highly-ranked, I might add) for her name, but clicking on them will return a “page not found” error.

My removal of those posts in no way, shape, or form should be considered an admission of any falsities or wrongdoing on my part, nor is it a retraction. I stand by everything I have said through this: I have done no wrong and have merely been exercising my constitutionally protected right to free speech.

Unfortunately for me, the legal system in the US can be manipulated by people with the time and/or money to do so. I have neither the time nor the money to fight against bogus assertions, other than through my use of this website. The threat of legal action in federal court continues to wear on me and I simply couldn’t continue to fight someone determined to clear her name by whatever means necessary.

As for my future, I am anxiously awaiting the court’s resolution of her dispute with UNR so I can comment and express my opinion on the final outcome, whatever it may be.

How that turns out will have a great bearing on the future of the university and Ms. Patraw. It will not, however, have any effect on what I have written here, as I wrote on events that were either on the public record or events that happened directly to me—something that has absolutely no connection to the suit other than Ms. Patraw being involved in all of it. If the public events are under the scrutiny she claims, there will be a resolution and I will follow any resolution that comes from those. Even the most extreme reversal of the outcomes of the decisions that have been made don’t change the facts now and at the time I originally wrote what I wrote.

Thanks for the support I have received from friends and people I have never met. This was a stressful time at my house and affected parts of my life it never should have affected. I suppose that was the intent.
