Misc: Firefox URL Bar Problem

I’ve been having this problem on my work machine occasionally, and today it was rampant all day. Here’s the machine info:

  • 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac
  • Mac OS X 10.4.11
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Firefox 2.0.0.11

The problem is that the address bar just stops working. I type in a URL and hit return…nothing. I click the little green arrow…nothing. I have to restart Firefox for it to function properly and go through the process again in twenty minutes.

A search for the problem yields a ton of issues using Firefox and Ubuntu, but just about nothing that seems related to this specific issue. Has anyone else run into this problem on a Mac and using Firefox 2?

I get this problem fairly frequently on several machines. All running Ubuntu though. Would be nice to find out why it happens.
