Errr, wait, hold on. It’s more like they had a party and didn’t invite me. As some of you may have already known, I am the Community Correspondent for Blogging at KREN. It’s been a long road to get to where we are today (and by far most of it has been on their shoulders as far as workload goes), but the day has arrived. Well, it arrived yesterday and I had no idea. If not for a tip from someone I’ll only call “Babs” I might never have known. Except that I check their website incessantly to see if my first thing has been posted yet.
So there it was. In all its glory. In HD, even! Me, on TV talking about something I care about and love. And I missed it. I’ve been trying hard to make a habit of watching their newscast at 10:00. Wednesday nights might be the toughest night for me. One word: Medium. What can I say? One man’s reality show is another man’s Patricia Arquette. Ever since Stigmata I’ve liked her. And Medium is great. But that’s not why we’re here. I can’t link the video since they embed it in Flash (like Kassata Edwards’ blog). So if you missed it and want to watch, get there quickly and watch the stream on the front page of the website. It’s currently the second video in the loop. Right after the News Around the Clock (which does a great job of keeping you updated without taking your entire day.
Did any of you happen to catch it? I’m guessing no because I figured I’d see an email or two if someone had seen it. If you didn’t, let’s try something. Go there and watch it (no, I don’t get money or anything based on pageviews) and let’s talk about it. Blogging is all about the conversation, you know. I get to talk about what I want for the most part, so I’d love to have input. I though long and hard before agreeing to do this — mainly because I’m not sure if I am comfortable as an “expert.” So I made a deal with myself that I would be open to suggestion and serious about furthering the conversation through the segment. I also want it to encourage far more people to enter the conversation. How can we – the bloggers and readers in Northern Nevada – get more people to enter this conversation and become a part of our world?
