I'm working on a new photo project

I realized, as in fully realized, yesterday that I have not been taking any photos lately. My camera actually had dust on it. I had been thinking that I haven’t been taking many photos lately, but sometimes these things require a different level of understanding. That’s what I came to yesterday.
I think it happened because on New Year’s Eve I was talking about Anderson Cooper and brought up that photo of him taken as an infant by Diane Arbus. She sort of fascinates me. I love weird photos done right, and hers, especially the twins that served as the inspiration for the twins in Kubrick’s The Shining are done right.
I’m going to rip her off. Or at least try by doing my own interpretations of things I think she might have done. Granted, I don’t know nearly enough to do an exact copying project, but I can look at her stuff and be inspired to do something myself. True to my nature, I will do it about me. It’s just easier than finding other people to work on and I can do it in my own time.
Above is the first attempt. I’m posting them on Flickr. There won’t be any schedule for updating, but it will be as often as I can do it. After the initial fun I’ll have with lenses, I’ll start working on environmental stuff and ramp up the interestingness. This is not a 365 day project or anything like that. I don’t stay on schedules with my own work.
I hope you enjoy it.
